The Letter She Finally Read — Part 2
That night, Ishani could not sleep. The image of Ayaan standing by the lighthouse haunted her gently — not with fear, but with longing. The sealed letter rested on her bedside table, glowing faintly in the moonlight, as if waiting patiently for her courage.
At dawn, she returned to the lighthouse.
Ayaan was already there.
He turned when he heard her footsteps. For a moment, neither spoke. The sea roared below, but between them was only silence — deep, meaningful, and full of emotion.
Slowly, Ishani opened the letter.
Her breath trembled as she read.
The words revealed that years ago, Ayaan and a girl had fallen deeply in love in this very town. They used to meet at the lighthouse every sunset. But one stormy night, she disappeared without explanation. Heartbroken, Ayaan spent years searching — writing letters, sending bottles into the sea, and waiting at the lighthouse, hoping fate would return her to him.
As Ishani read the last line, tears rolled down her cheeks:
"If you are reading this, then my heart has found its way back to me."
She looked up.
Ayaan’s eyes were filled with tears too.
In that moment, Ishani realized the truth — she was that girl. Years ago, she had lost her memory in an accident and moved away, never knowing the love she had left behind.
Slowly, Ayaan stepped closer.
Without words, he took her hands.
The waves softened, the wind calmed, and the lighthouse light glowed warmly around them — as if blessing their return to each other.
They didn’t need explanations anymore. Their hearts already knew the story.
At sunset, they sat together on the lighthouse steps, watching the sky turn golden, just like they used to.
This time, they did not say goodbye.
Because love, once found again, never gets lost.
